Effects of MEL system renewal on year-end customer service
11/1/2010
A major pension-related system overhaul currently underway at the Seafarer’s Pension Fund will be affecting the fund’s pension and insurance service and online services. The transition will cause a service break in the processing of pension applications and the payment of one-time disbursements, as well as in the Ankkuri online service for employers and the Loki online service for fund members. We apologize for any inconvenience resulting from the service break.
Processing of pension applications
There will be a break in the handling of pension applications in the period 15 December 2010 – 9 January 2011. During this time, new pensions will not be calculated, nor will decisions on pensions be granted. Customer service and pension advice will otherwise function normally during the service break.
The service break will not affect regular payment of pensions.
Continuous, regularly paid pensions will appear in the pension recipients’ bank accounts according to the normal timetable, on 31 December 2010.
All one-time reimbursements (for instance, for the costs of a medical examination or rehabilitation-related travel costs), as well as potential changes (for instance, in bank account number or taxation) to be taken into account in the processing of pension payments prior to the service break, must be received by the Seafarer’s Pension Fund at the latest by 15 December 2010.
Service breaks in online services
It will not be possible to log in to and conduct business in the Loki online service for fund members or the Ankkuri online service for employers during the service break. The service break will take place 15 December 2010 – 9 January 2011.
