The Seafarer’s Pension Fund will be sending a pension record to approximately 10,000 insured members during 2009. The record will include the member’s work history, including both work in the private sector and work as an entrepreneur, as well as an estimate of accrued pension as of 31 December 2008. All records will be posted at the end of September or beginning of October.

Please check the information in your pension record carefully, as your future pension will be based on it. If the information in your pension record is correct, no action is required. If you notice something that needs correcting, please contact us.

Public sector employment – for instance, any work performed while employed by a city, the state, or the church – is not included in the record, and you do not need to notify the pension fund about it.
