Earnings-based pension insurance contribution
A seafarer and his employer each pay an 11,2 per cent insurance contribution. The contribution is defined as a percentage of total salary, which includes the amount of cash remuneration as well as the monetary value of benefits in kind.
No insurance contribution is paid for reimbursements of travel expenses or daily allowances. Neither does pension accrue from these.
The insurance contribution is confirmed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health.
