Seafarers’ Pension Fund has made a commission agreement with Sauli Hämäläinen to develop its domestic share portfolio.  The aim is to diversify the current HEX25 index portfolio, worth approximately EUR 100 million, to more extensively include Finnish companies of different sizes. We believe that this change will increase the return on the portfolio and reduce the fluctuation of the return.

In accordance with the responsibility goals of Seafarers’ Pension Fund, special attention is paid to the responsibility of the objects of investment when creating the portfolio. Partly, investments will also be made in small, even non-listed companies with profitable business activities.

“Sauli has 30 years of experience in investing, and we will utilise his expertise, as needed, also in other investment activities, for example, in developing the reporting of listed investments in view of responsibility and sustainability. I am very pleased that Sauli has agreed to join us in the process of developing our investment activities”, states Jari Puhakka.
