Changes for MEL pension recipients – tax card information directly from the tax authority

At the end of May, we will implement a new service from the tax authority for MEL pension payments. We will retrieve the tax rate for individuals receiving MEL pension or benefit directly from the tax authority's system. We will no longer accept other tax card information. This makes handling tax matters more efficient and easier for both the pension recipient and the Seafarer's Pension Fund.
Ongoing benefit
The Seafarer's Pension Fund aims to ensure that this change does not affect the amount of tax withheld. If you notice any changes in your taxation, please contact the tax authority directly. The Seafarer's Pension Fund will then receive the new information electronically from the tax authority.
New benefit starting
If you are granted a new pension or benefit, the Seafarer's Pension Fund will notify the tax authority. The tax authority will then send the tax rate information to both the Seafarer's Pension Fund and to you. You no longer need to send the tax card to the pension fund.
Increasing the tax rate
You can still increase the tax rate reported to us by the tax authority. Inform us of the increase securely, reliably, and easily through the Messages service in the Loki web service. You can find the Loki web service on the Seafarer's Pension Fund website. You log in to the service with your online banking credentials.
