The Seafarers’ Pension Fund (MEK) has sold its entire residential portfolio to Premico Asuntosalkku 4 Ky, an investment vehicle established together with Premico. The transaction comprises a total of 463 apartments across eight residential properties located in Helsinki, Turku and Mariehamn.

The pension insurance contribution for seafarers, i.e. employees, is determined in accordance with the Employees Pensions Act (TyEL). The SjPL pension insurance contribution paid by the employer shipping company is based on an actuarial analysis conducted by the Seafarer’s Pension Fund and confirmed by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health (MSAH).
